Joshua2 is a prolific visual artist, civil rights activist, and singer/songwriter. Since moving to New York in 2013, he has created a unique blend of Pentacostal Blues music, Black history, and civil rights storytelling. While performing throughout Harlem and Manhattan in such clubs as Red Rooster, Silvana’s, Minton’s, Lenox Saphire, Paris Blues, Smoke, Ashford and Simpson’s Sugar Bar. he earned the nickname “The Reverend.” His band is comprised of notable musicians Ken Hatfield (lead guitar), George Gray (drums), Gene Torres (bass), and Marcus Persiani (keyboard). They have toured and performed with some of the best musicians and bands known, such as Dizzy Gillespie, Max Roach, Tito Puente, Stephanie Mills, Pat Benatar, Toni Braxton, Ben E. King, Eartha Kitt, Talking Heads, Earth, Wind, & Fire, and Sun Ra Arkestra, just to name a few. Joshua2 and the Dark Horse Band are returning to Uncle Cheef, and are looking forward to having a “wang-dang-doodle” of a night celebrating not just Black History Month, but the history of the country through the music of Blues!
